Where was wednesday filmed on netflix?

WEDNESDAY Addams House,

Netflix’s new horror series “Wednesday” continues the story of Wednesday Addams and brings viewers into her teenage life at Nevermore Academy, where she tries to sharpen her psychic abilities and supernatural powers while investigating a local murder mystery that has shaken her the inhabitants of the city. The first four episodes of “Wednesday” were directed by legendary director Tim Burton, known for directing such macabre and eccentric films as “Beetlejuice”, “Corpse Bride” and “Dark Shadows”. Burton and fellow producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were particularly careful about where to film the series to capture the essence of the creepy world of the Addams Family.

The series is set in Jericho, VT, and features a gothic and bleak yet visually stunning design that makes almost anyone want to immerse themselves in the setting and take part in Nevermore. While “Wednesday” takes place in a real town in Vermont, the show has been filmed in a handful of locations far from the state and even the United States. Here is exactly where the series was filmed!

According to The Sun, the gothy series was primarily filmed in the city of Bucharest, Romania, which is the country’s capital. Regarding the choice of Romania as the central filming location for the series, Burton explained in a press conference (via House Beautiful): “It was amazing to come here to Romania because it fit so strangely into the world of the Addams family. Trying to make Romania look like Vermont was an interesting challenge, but I felt like I found a lot of new locations.”

Many of the show’s locations, including the city of Jericho and Pilgrim World, were built for the show and filmed at Bucharest Film Studios, also known as Buftea Studios. But a location that is very real may surprise you.

Where were the Nevermore Academy scenes filmed? Cantacuzino Castle

Bucharest is home to many of the locations featured in the series, especially Nevermore Academy, where Wednesday Addams is a student. While Nevermore seems too beautiful and elaborate to be true, it is actually a real building. Perched in the Carpathian Mountains in the town of Bușteni, Romania, Cantacuzino Castle serves as the main exterior structure for Nevermore, while other Romanian landmarks were used to film the school’s interiors. Filming also took place in historic buildings such as the Monteoru Palace and the Niculescu-Dorobantu House, both located in Bucharest, to capture the essential striking Gothic aesthetic of the Addams Family.

“Wednesday” is worth watching for the gorgeous setting alone, but the original story and the acting of characters like Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Fred Armisen and Christina Ricci make it one of the hottest Netflix series (and #1 on the list with the most watched shows of the platform).
