Vikram Bhatt has spoken about his 18-year battle with fibromyalgia

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt opened up about his 18-year battle with fibromyalgia and spoke in support of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently opened up about her battle with myositis.

Why does this story matter?

  • In the recent past, many celebrities have opened up about their health issues and helped spread awareness.
  • In a country like India, everyone is obsessed with cinema and admires their favorite actors and celebrities as demigods.
  • These demigods who talk about their health issues as a chink in their armor help fans relate to them and take the necessary precautions.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that leads to muscle pain. It also affects the sleep cycle, memory and mood of a person suffering from it. It is also often accompanied by fatigue.

Currently, there is no medical treatment for this condition. We need to lead a restricted and healthy lifestyle and regular therapy helps to keep it under control.

What did Bhatt say about his condition?

Bhatt told him Bombay Times that each individual processes pain differently and for him, the threshold is very low because of his medical condition.

He said: ‚ÄúThere are days when you have seizures and there are days when you are better. Only metaphysical things like meditation or good sleep can help you.”

He expressed his gratitude to his support system and extended his support to Prabhu.

Where did we last see Bhatt, Prabhu?

Bhatt’s recent release was Judaa Hoke Bhi starring Akshay Oberoi and Aindrita Ray, a supernatural horror film that was bankrolled by Mahesh Bhatt.

This was the first Indian film to be shot in a virtual production studio using unreal engine technology.

Meanwhile, the recent release of Prabhu Yashoda it was well received by fans. She has Shaakuntalam lined up for release.
