Holiday entertainment in December at OLT
Christmas at Ouachita Little Theater is always extra fun for our patrons. We offer live family entertainment that people of all ages will enjoy.
The first is “A Seussified Christmas Carol,” an animated production by Junior Ouachita Little Theater performed by youth of all school ages. Directed by Makayla Ortiz and Lexie Payne, these young women rehearse with their large cast to produce a play that is written in Dr. Seuss’ distinctive rhyme and pentameter. The costumes and sets reflect Dr. Seuss’ nostalgic whimsical style that we’ve all come to love. Bring the family to one of the five shows that were recently rescheduled for December 9, 10, 11, 17 and 18. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and are already available online at oltmena.com for advance reservations. You can also buy tickets at the door. Subscriptions are accepted for this show.
On December 14th, OLT will have its last Wednesday night at the Lryic for 2022. We will be showing the classic film “White Christmas” starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. Back by popular demand, this musical favorite is sure to get you in the holiday spirit, especially as you join friends and family in the old classic Lyric Theatre. The experience is complete with hot popcorn, candy, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Join us at 6:30 p.m.; as always, admission is FREE and concessions are cheap!
Also easy on the wallet is our ultimate deal for the holiday season. On Friday 16th December at 19:30, OLT is pleased to once again host the family music group, Harmony. They have been delighting our audiences with their Christmas show for the past few years. Admission is by donation, so just put what you can afford in the donation jar. It’s one of the best ways to enjoy the holidays with musical entertainment that pays tribute to the true reason for the season. No reservations required, just come and enjoy!
Auditions for the February winter comedy directed by Amanda Baker will be held December 15th from 5-8pm and December 17th from 10am-noon at OLT. Track selection will be announced soon; check the website or Facebook for updates.
Our first event of 2023 will be a Roy Orbison Tribute by Entertainer David K on Saturday 21st January at 2pm. This talented performer captures the legendary voice and music of Roy Orbison in a stunning performance that will thrill local audiences. Tickets are $20 and are available now at oltmena.com.
