November 28, 2022 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) proactively contributed to the development of local sports by the Macao SAR government by supporting and sponsoring the organization of various international sports events in Macau and propulsion of Macau positioning as the “World Center of Tourism and leisure‘. Today, the 2022 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon Carnival was revealed. The eight-day carnival opens from November 27 – December 4 to Broadway Food Street by Broadway Macau. Encompassing various elements such as delicacies, leisure and entertainment, cultural arts, sports and fitness, the carnival allows participants, public and tourists to experience the vibrancy and excitement of the marathon and showcases. of Macau the charm of ‘tourism + sport’.
The launch ceremony took place on the first floor of Broadway Theatre this afternoon and officiated by various guests of honor including Mr Pun Weng KunPresident of Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau; Mr. Lau Cho Un and mrs. Mr Pun Weng Kun said in his speech: “Today’s 2022 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon Carnival, with its many added elements and highlights, enriches the marathon and plays an important role in deepening the synergy of sports events and the recovery of various sectors. In the name Macau International Marathon Organizing CommitteeI want to thank GEG for their strong support and contribution to the marathon.’
Mr. Buddy Lam said: “Over the years, with the support Sports Office, GEG has created a series of exciting and dynamic associated activities and promotions to enhance the appeal and interactivity of the sporting event. The recent Macau International Marathon Carnivals were successful and well received by the public, once again we hope to indulge the public in the joyful atmosphere of the Macau International Marathon and increase their interest and participation in sports through the carnival.’ In addition, five local runners from different generations were invited to participate in the starting ceremony to share their experiences and unforgettable memories of the marathon and convey the spirit of sportsmanship. Afterwards, the officiating guests visited the Broadway Macau mezzanine number collection point, the marathon medal display and the various carnival booths.
The carnival features a series of exciting moments that engage residents and tourists alike to celebrate the marathon fever, including free game booths, special treats, marathon-themed photo booths, entertainment shows and lucky draws. In addition, innovative elements are also incorporated to further enrich the event such as a medal exhibition, marathon-themed souvenir crafting experience and retail outlets set up by various local sports SMEs . This year, apart from sponsoring the popular “Most Creative Costume Award”, GEG also launched several limited-edition food and beverage promotions at the Marathon for the public’s enjoyment and participated in the first accommodation package that enables marathon lovers from different places to enjoy a comfortable and convenient marathon experience.
