Churchill Downs enters into betting agreement with DraftKings

Churchill Downs Inc. signed a multi-year contract with DraftKings Inc. which will bring back-to-back horse racing betting to the sports betting company, according to Louisville Business First. Churchill Downs’ (Nasdaq: CHDN ) subsidiary TwinSpires will provide DraftKings (Nasdaq: DKNG )’s advanced deposit betting technology, according to a Tuesday morning press release. TwinSpires is CDI’s online US horse racing betting platform “We believe the depth and quality of our online offering through TwinSpires is unmatched in horse racing,” CDI CEO Bill Carstanjen said in the release. “We are excited to establish this relationship with DraftKings and offer a complete white label ADW solution that will introduce the significant sports betting customer base to horse racing betting.” DraftKings will launch DK HORSE in the coming months, which will allow eligible DraftKings customers to bet on horse racing using an independent brand app, the release continued. The initial launch of DK HORSE will require customers to sign up and deposit funds separate from those of a single account/wallet linked to the DraftKings Sportsbook, Casino and Daily Fantasy Sports apps. Under the agreement, CDI will provide DraftKings with pari-mutuel wagering rights on horse racing content owned or controlled by CDI, including the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby. CDI will also secure, on behalf of DraftKings, additional horse racing content for use on DK Horse.
