He further added, “We were all disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. It felt like a vulgar, propaganda film, inappropriate for a competitive arts section of such a prestigious film festival. I feel perfectly comfortable sharing it openly. these feelings here with you on this stage. In the spirit of this festival, it can certainly also accept a critical discussion, which is essential to art and life.”
Now, Anupam, who played one of the key roles in the film, tweeted, “No matter how tall the lie is… It is always small compared to the truth.” He also added pictures from the movie. Take a look:

Another jury member Sudipto Sen also reacted to this and said, “Whatever IFFI 2022 Jury President Mr. Nadav Lapid said about the film Kashmir Files from the closing ceremony stage of the 53 -a IFFI was completely his personal opinion. In the official presentation of the Jury Committee to the Festival Director and in the official Press Conference, where we 4 jurors (the 5th juror had to leave due to her personal emergency) were present and interacted with the press, we never mentioned anything about us . like or dislike. Both were our official collective opinion.”
Film and Television Directors Association of India president Ashoke Pandit also criticized Lapid’s remarks and tweeted, “I strongly object to the language used by Mr. Nadav Lapid on #kashmirFiles. Depiction of genocide of 3 lakh #KashmiriHindus cannot be called vulgar. I, as a filmmaker and #KashmiriPandit, condemn this shameless act of abuse towards the victims of terrorism.”
