When we think about the music festivals, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo come to mind. But proliferation the music festivals has led to a variety of subcultures for the adventurous. Here’s a rundown of some of the world’s weirdest the music festivals.

Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Leipzig

Every year, Leipzig in Germany goes black for almost a week. A special “black tram” runs through the city center, local shops and cafes paint their exteriors black, and hundreds of people roam the streets wearing nothing but black. The Wave Gotik Treffen festival is the reason. The festival is a great gathering of Gothic culture, the music, fashion and arts. With over 20,000 participants, WGT Leipzig is one of the biggest and most popular events in Europe. It started in 1991 and has since become a huge international event, recognized for its relaxed, multicultural atmosphere and the music genres like cybergoth to death punk. You can pick up gothic clothing and accessories at the themed fair, Black Market.

The festival is tentatively scheduled for May 26-29, 2023.

Electric Forest, Rothbury, Michigan

Electric Forest takes place in the middle of Sherwood Forest. The four-day, one-weekend multi-genre event has grown into a major destination festival and takes place at Double JJ Ranch in Michigan. With lights, artwork and fan-generated creativity at night, Sherwood Forest comes alive. The show leans psychedelic and has strong hippie undertones, including jam band and electro psychedelia. In previous iterations, musicians like Duke Dumont, Griz, Gorgon City and Lettuce have taken the event to the next level.

The 2023 festival schedule has not yet been announced, but you can book your tickets as the dates are confirmed, 22-23 June 2023.

Underwater The music Festival, Big Pine Key, Florida

Florida Keys underwater The music The festival offers the best of both worlds for the music fans and divers. This underwater sonic experience – known as “Underwater The music Festival” – attracts divers and artists to the Florida Keys every year. At Looe Key Reef, which is part of the only living barrier reef in North America, hundreds of divers and snorkelers gather for the event held for last 25 years. “Trom-bonefish”, “sea-phan flute” and a “Fluke-a-Lele” were among the tools used in previous years.

The festival should take place between 5-7 May 2023.

Rolling Loud, Miami, Florida

Since 2017, one of the most popular hip-hop festivals in the world was the Rolling Loud Miami festival. The lineups at Rolling Loud each year include some of the top up-and-coming acts in addition to some of the biggest names in the business. In 2018, the event moved from Bayfront Park to Hard Rock Stadium – the home of the Miami Dolphins. Artists who have performed at this unique hip-hop event include Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Future.

The event will soon reveal its lineup for next year. But the dates are July 21-23, 2023, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
